It is reported that merchant ship Mitsui, Mediterranean Shipping, and Maersk Shipping have jointly announced a ship sharing agreement on the East Coast route between Asia and South America.
Three liner companies have announced that they will put 22 ships into operation on two loop services on the East Coast route from Asia to South America. Maersk Shipping and Mediterranean Shipping will deploy six 9000TEU container ships on one of the service loop lines, while merchant ship Mitsui will deploy ten 5500TEU container ships on the other loop line.
Maersk Shipping stated in a statement that it will provide transportation services for electronic products and automotive components on the East Coast route between Asia and South America, thereby promoting the development of the Latin American shipping industry. In addition, the company also pointed out that this route is conducive to South American countries exporting protein products to Asia through the East Coast.
According to the agreement reached by the three shipping companies, the existing ship sharing agreement will be tested at the end of June this year, and the new loop service will begin in the first week of July next year. The inaugural voyage will depart from Asia and dock at the following ports in sequence:
Ring Road 1: Busan Shanghai Ningbo Yantian Chiwan Hong Kong Singapore Santos Paranagua Buenos Aires Montevideo Rio Grande Paranagua Santos Kuha Singapore Hong Kong Busan.
Loop 1: Chiwan Yantian Hong Kong Singapore Santos Sepetiba Itayai Navigentes South San Francisco Sepetiba Cape Town Durban Singapore Chiwan.
